Priority list of features:

  • "gist" functionality - private, easily accessible
    • really, really, really easy to make a (plain text) note, wherever I am
      • 0-step (go to app / site), new note is already open
    • authenticated save, view and edit
  • Select multiple notes at the same time to move into categories
  • a simple csv-style table

Goals:

  • AJ wants to move from Apple notes and gist
  • Josh wants to move from Evernote

How AJ uses notes:

Someone is talking to me about a book or a movie.

I want to jot down "the thing" as quickly as possible. I'll often even put this in the wrong place (whatever note is open) to get it down immediately. I want the ability to have a new note immediately and to "append to" to "save". Categorize after writing the note.

I want these "quick notes" to appear like a spotify playlist - if I only select the category, it shows all notes in the category in scrollable, scoped-searchable fashion

  • categories w/ infinite scroll preview

It would also be cool to have a RSS feed type sorting for the "Notebooks" of notes, sometimes that just flows really well.
